Each family who engages with the Wordsworth CUA has ONE Case Manager who works with them to increase their capacity to keep their children safe and healthy. Previously, families involved with DHS often had several case managers coming to their homes from different agencies to provide services. With the new Single Case Management structure, the family is assigned just one person to provide all services. This means that if a family has one child placed in a resource home, one child living with a relative, and a third child living in a residential treatment center, one case manager visits all three children and the parent(s). The goal is to eliminate overlap of services and miscommunication between different case managers and service providers so that each family and its case manager are all on the same page.
